Kaiser

Kaiser is a bullet hell game made in just 4 days for the Bullet Hell Game Jam.

This was by far the most we had to rush to get a game ready compared to other project for which we had months to work on, or at least a couple weeks. We made a team of 4, and went at it without much expectation on the final product.

It was too short of a time to cooperate on the programming side, so I went all on music sound design and shaders when I had the time. As it was a bullet game the sound design stayed very simplistic but functional. The composing part on the other end was a real challenge, composing for a given vibe with such a short deadline was something I never did before, and rarely done since then.

I managed to make a few simple tracks, and linked to our level designer and programmer we had 4 fully functional levels barely on time despite the allowed overtime. It was such an interesting experience, it was a rush yet we all made time to meet in person as much as we could.

Today I look back at it as a nice memory, and important lesson in scope management.
